2011 Ford Mustang Awards

The 1965 Mustang won the Tiffany Gold Medal for excellence in American design, the first automobile ever to do so.

The Mustang was on the Car and Driver Ten Best list in 1983, 1987, 1988, 2005, and 2006. It won the Motor Trend Car of the Year award in 1974 and 1994.

2007 Ford Mustang GT520 Racing Orange Bodykit

The folks over at GeigerCars.deâ€™s have successfully managed have successfully managed to fine tune the mammoth 5.2 litre V8 engine of the Mustang GT 520, and the result is a staggering maximum power output of 520 hp / 382.7 kW, up from stock 300 hp / 220 kW. With 563 Nm of torque (Woow!) available at 4,730 rpm, power is all yours! It can do a 0 â€“ 100 km/h in 4.2 seconds and reach a top speed of 178 mph which is around 287Km/h. Gee! that's shatteringly heroically fast. Along with that it's got high-performance brake system as well featuring vented and cross-drilled 355 x 32-mm brake discs and four-piston aluminum calipers on the front axle.

The Mustang GT 520 has got the heart and soul of the Mustang GT. In a true Mustang way, it gets a multimedia sound system from JBL that was custom-tailored acoustically and visually to the interior of the Ford Mustang coupe and also features an integrated real 5.1 surround system. I for the one wonder the wisdom behind this though as I would rather prefer the 5.2 litre V8 roar than music coming from all those Hi-fi systems.

New 2008 Ford Mustang Shelby Cobra GT500KR Edition

Ford and Shelby Automobiles announced today the launch of the new 2008 Ford Mustang Shelby Cobra GT500KR. This is the most powerful Mustang ever produced and it is inspired by the 1968 Ford Mustang Shelby Cobra GT500KR.

The "King of the Road" is powered by a 5.4L supercharged V8 producing 540 horsepower and 510 lb-ft. of torque. Power is transferred to the rear wheels through a six-speed tranny.

Ford's SVT and Racing teams teamed up with Team Shelby to recalibrate the suspension to improve the steering and handling. The show car has 20 inch rims, but the production version will only have 18 inch rims.
